Model Penny Lancaster is considering swapping designer dresses for hi-vis after training with the police for Channel 4 series, Famous and Fighting Crime.

The documentary sees five famous faces take on the challenge of their lives, as they work on the front line of British policing with one of the country’s busiest police forces right here in Cambridgeshire.

Five well-known rookies will be given the chance to see what it’s really like to be at the sharp end of policing in Channel 4’s newest programme, Famous and Fighting Crime.

McVitie heir and Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing is more used to his stomping ground on the King’s Road than “the streets”.

While Rod Stewart’s model wife Penny Lancaster will be swapping Loose Women for some of Britain’s most dangerous men.

They, along with a host of other celebs will join the 12,000 volunteer officers who help keep the UK safe amidst ongoing police cuts and crime rates at an all time high.

Katie Piper has revealed she ran into a burning block of flats to save trapped children while working as a volunteer police officer.’

The television personality and charity patron was filming a documentary, Famous and Fighting Crime alongside Made In Chelsea‘s Jamie Laing and’Penny Lancaster when she noticed the blaze in Peterborough last May.

Katie, 35, said she had to ignore her instinct to run after realising many of the flats’ residents would be fast asleep, completely unaware the fire was tearing through the building.’
