Recently’at the actress’ roundtable conference moderated by’CNN-News18’s Rajeev Masand’Rajeev Masand,’ Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Tabu, Rani Mukerji, and Tapsee Pannu made an appearance and spoke about issues including the impactful #MeToo movement that shook the industry.

Rani Mukerji slammed for #MeToo remarks

Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji has been slammed by netizens and a few actresses for a comment on the #MeToo movement. Rani was part of a TV discussion ‘The Actresses Roundtable 2018’ along with actresses Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Taapsee Pannu and Tabu.

Deepika, Anushka and Alia stated that measures should be taken to make a safer environment for women and that the mindset should change. But Rani stated that women should change rather asking others to change. She said that women should take the responsibility to make themselves strong enough to handle such situations.

Ishqbaaaz actor Nakuul Mehta REACTS to Rani Mukerji’s recent interview; urges the Mardaani actress to listen

Rani spoke at length about the importance of martial arts training in school. Rani seemed adamant about her point and didn’t seem to give other ladies a chance to speak up. This irked one of the lead television actors, Nakuul Mehta. He took to Twitter and urged the Mardaani actress to listen to other actresses as well. He wrote, ‘Ok we get it that you did Mardaani and martial arts is cool but the ladies there are making a very valid point. LISTEN.’

The Ishqbaaaz actor took a subtle dig at the actress and expressed that other women in the interview were making some good suggestions and Rani should have listened more. While Rani kept talking about martial arts and self-defence, Deepika, Alia and Anushka tried to speak about teaching men to behave in the right way. Due to this, Rani faced a lot of flak on social media as well. Recently, Nakuul Mehta won the Best Actor award at TIFFA and expressed his gratitude on winning the same. The actor is currently playing the role of Shivaansh Oberoi in Ishqbaaaz after the leap.’
