The Holly Willoughby TV gigs you’d completely forgotten about

Then, long before landing a primetime gig as a Dancing on Ice presenter, she switched sides to ITV, where she made a name for herself presenting the likes of Ministry of Mayhem and CD:UK.

As the presenter turns 38, it’s the perfect time to re-visit some long-forgotten gems from Willoughby’s broadcasting resume.

In one early spin-off programme, Artistic Differences, Willoughby made her acting debut as Paul Cattermole’s ex-girlfriend, who arrives in Los Angeles and shakes things up for the group.

Willoughby’s first presenting gig was on CBBC’s Xchange, a magazine show that, at a push, could be described as a kid-friendly This Morning. Originally launched as a special summer holiday show, it eventually became a daily broadcast on the CBBC Channel, complete with a gang of hosts, musical performances from legends like Daniel Bedingfield and Girls Aloud and a very snazzy (for the early Noughties) website.

Holly Willoughby’s pre-birthday celebrations continue with the hottest gig of 2019

The busy This Morning presenter risked a late night to catch one of the most in-demand events of the season

Holly Willoughby may have four early mornings every week as part of her regular This Morning job, but that doesn’t mean she can’t enjoy the occasional night out.

And this week the star, who is rarely off our screens with her Celebrity Juice and Dancing On Ice appearances catching any demographics that This Morning doesn’t, enjoyed a night out at the Brixton Academy to see Mike Skinner’s revitalised band The Streets making a rare return to live performance.

The Streets show was one of the hottest tickets of the year so far, with extra dates being added after the initial Academy shows sold out almost immediately after being put on sale. Holly’s image of herself wearing a Streets wristband suggests that she had been invited to the exclusive afterparty.
