X Factor 2018: Dermot O’Leary forced to apologise after swearing broadcast

Not only did fans of The X Factor claim Little mix mimed during their performance, but host Dermot O’Leary was forced to apologise on live TV.

After Ayda Williams’ act Janice Robinson was voted off, a profanity was picked up on the studio microphones as Ayda walked towards the stage.

It has not been confirmed who swore, but when the show returned from an advert break, Dermot apologised to viewers.

As always, the judges gave their comments before lines opened for viewers to vote for their favourites ahead of tonight’s results.

At the end of the evening, it was Janice Robinson and LMA Choir who left and were voted off The X Factor this week.

First, the act with the fewest votes was immediately eliminated, with host Dermot O’Leary announcing it was Janice who was bottom of the viewer vote. Janice was in the bottom two last weekend and became the second Overs contestant to leave in as many weeks, following Olatunji Yearwood.

American singer Robinson, who sang Show Me Love by Robin S, was eliminated immediately after receiving the least public votes.

Robinson, who was in Ayda Field’s Overs category said: ‘When one door closes, I trust and believe that God is going to open another door.’

LMA Choir, who were in Robbie Williams’ Groups category, were very emotional to leave the competition but said they were ‘proud’ of their progress.

Last night’s episode was shrouded in controversy after Danny Tetley made a sly jibe at his co-stars for their song choices.

Cowell kicked off the comments bluntly by telling the band that the performance was ‘terrible’ and that ‘everything is going wrong’ before suggesting that they get the public to pick them a new name.
