‘People will see strong design on both sides,’ says Grandpr’, noting that although she and Casmer have very different aesthetics and motifs, an artistic kinship and commonality comes through in an attention to form and shape and line’using them all in concert to capture a viewer’s eye and direct it across the canvas. It’s an exploration of the fundamental power of abstraction (or an abstract exploration of the power of fundamentals), and though Casmer’s work may lean towards the mechanical, inspired by circuit boards and old-school machinery to the point that Grandpr’ calls them ‘whimsical blueprints,’ while her own paintings favor the organic and intuitive, the lot converge at a vanishing point that transcends individual style. ‘We didn’t realize how much [we inspired each other],’ says Grandpr’, ‘until we put our work together and saw the common denominator.’

Wednesday Briefing: Walk-Ins at Eight Schools, Jason Altmire at Tiger Bay, Lukasik’s TDC, Parental Consent | FlaglerLive

Earlier this month, Waste Pro’s staff in Palm Coast spent three days honoring the hardworking employees of the city by treating them to lunch. On April 3rd, Waste Pro’s team fed approximately 130 public works employees. The next day, the team provided lunch to 130 utility workers and on April 5 it was the turn of City Hall’s 140 employees. Each meal was delivered by Cracker Barrel and served by employees from Waste Pro’s Palm Coast and Jacksonville offices. In an effort to raise awareness about recycling and the harmful effects of single-use plastics on the environment, Waste Pro did not provide throw-away cups for the lunches. Instead, each city employee received their beverages in a reusable Waste Pro cup. (Waste Pro)

What to Wear to: The Van Wezel Foundation Gala

Dressing for events can be confusing at times. Especially when (ahem) “creative” invitation verbiage’makes you feel like you’re decoding some secret society dress code language. I’ve seen invitations with’the most absurd dress codes. Like, what is “farmers market chic?” I’m assuming yoga pants wouldn’t constitute “farmers market chic” to the people hosting this event, right? Sometimes it’s all up for interpretation.

This’might be my favorite dress code to read on an invitation. Why? Because you can wear full-gown, Oscar-worthy, show-stopping fashions’or just throw on a cocktail dress and heels and call it a day. Sometimes I get the urge to dress over-the-top, and sometimes the last thing I want to do is get super done up for a party.
