What’s Happening: Your 10-day forecast

FANCY FARCE: The High Springs Playhouse, located at 130 NE First Ave., High Springs, presents its newest production “Rumors,” a farcical play penned by American playwright Neil Simon about a high society dinner party gone wrong. During a dinner party celebrating the 10-year wedding anniversary of the deputy mayor of New York and his wife, the deputy mayor lies bleeding from a flesh wound — the result of accidentally shooting himself. His wife is nowhere to be found, while the first guests to arrive, the deputy mayor’s lawyer and his wife, attempt to cover up what they believe actually took place before they arrived. As the rest of the guests show up, the story of what happened transforms as the guests become complicit in a cover-up based in confusion. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets, which can be purchased by visiting, are $16 and $11 for seniors and students.
