[ Black Lives Matter Tampa to use new internet platform for virtual protests ]
Millions of people have been out in the streets marching, chanting and demanding racial equality for months.
‘Think about all the people who can’t protest physically on the street,’ said Artist and University of South Florida professor Jason Lazarus.
Lazarus is talking about people who are battling COVID-19, the immune-compromised, the disabled, undocumented immigrants, parents without childcare and many more.
Lazarus partnered with California artist and professor Stephanie Syjuco, and New York artist Siebren Versteeg, to create Public_Public_Address, so those who can’t be outside with the street protesters can still join the movement from their homes. Public_ Public_Address is a virtual protest platform.

Vice President Mike Pence will visit Tampa this afternoon to meet with Gov. Ron DeSantis regarding the state’s efforts to combat coronavirus.
Earlier this year, Pence was named chair of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, and he has been a regular part of COVID-19 related press briefings.
Florida saw a record-breaking spike in new coronavirus cases this past weekend, and the state’s 14-day moving average for new positive tests continues to climb. There were 6,563 new cases reported Tuesday. And, while 45,366 test results were returned from labs, 15.04 percent of those results were positive. In other words, 15 out of every 100 people tested were infected.
