Klungness sets program scoring record while Trojans focus on excellence

Kelly Walsh’s Nicole Klungness dribbles the ball across field during the Trojans’ game against Star Valley on Friday at the Tom Staffileno Activities Complex in Casper.

After repeated seasons ending in heartache, the Kelly Walsh girls are ready to make a run in the Class 4A state tournament.

Head coach Jerry Realing and a few of the seniors met during the off-season to discuss what they needed to do to improve the program and the recurring theme became winning a quarterfinal game, something no West Conference team has done since 2009. And the Trojans believe they can do so by building excellence.
