Long-haulers: Tampa Bay residents can’t shake COVID-19 symptoms months later

Greg Branch not only achieved his dream of becoming a pilot, he had one of the best gigs in the industry. For 13 years, he flew pro athletes, famous musicians and CEOs of major companies around the world on private jets.

‘Sometimes, it was just wealthy retirees who’d fly to Canada for lunch,’ said Branch, 37. ‘You don’t ask why, but you learn a lot from talking to them. Every day is something different.’

Every day now, he said, is pretty much the same. Headaches, confusion and fatigue that can make a walk to the kitchen feel as draining as running a mile uphill. Unable to fly, Branch and his wife left West Palm Beach and moved into a home in Tampa owned by her parents.

Orlando Magic Select Cole Anthony In NBA Draft

The Orlando Magic selected North Carolina point guard Cole Anthony with the 15th pick in the NBA Draft.

The highly touted point guard was ranked the third best point guard in his high school class in 2019 and put up some eye-popping stats for the Tar Heels, averaging 18.5 points per game and 4.0 assists per game. Anthony was widely considered a potential top pick in the draft, but a knee injury slowed him down at North Carolina and the Tar Heels struggled to a 14-19 record.

Orlando Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said they liked Anthony for his toughness and skill. He said the team was thrilled to get a player with his talent at the 15th pick and they believe they got excellent value for their pick.
