Hurricane Dorian: Palm Beach County rallying to get help to the Bahamas

As Floridians and the world continues their generosity towards the residents of the Bahamas who have been devastated by Hurricane Dorian, there’s always the concern that the organizations soliciting donations are legitimate. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has issued a statement urging caution, including verifying each organization and being wary of new charities or those that can not be verified online. The following collections, organizations and charities have been vetted by the Palm Beach Post, and involve locals wanting to help their Bahamian neighbors:

IPIC: A group of local yacht and boat owners have joined forces with IPIC Theaters at the locations in Boca Raton, Delray Beach and North Miami from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. each day until further notice. They are accepting hurricane supplies including the following, but not financial donations: Canned food, first aid, hand sanitizer, non-perishable food, bottled water, inflatable mattresses, diapers, formula, batteries, and more.
