The Scharoun Ensemble brings an eight-member group, seven of them Berlin Philharmonic members, to Faith Lutheran Church Thursday, March 14.

Peter Riegelbauer has been with the Berlin Philharmonic 38 years, and it’s taken him all over the world’ except to Florida.

The concert is sponsored by the Stay in May Festival in Naples and Big Arts of Sanibel Island. It brings an eight-member group, seven of them Berlin Philharmonic members, to Faith Lutheran Church (see information box).’

It’s a time to remind people the annual Stay in May Festival is coming April 24-May 7 and to bring more recognition of the many programs at Big Arts Sanibel.’But most of all it’s a time for virtuosic music from members of the symphony considered in contention with Vienna and the Royal Concertgebouw for the title of world’s best.’

Bach Festival Society of Winter Park Announces 2018-2019 Season

The Bach Festival Society of Winter Park announces its concert schedule for the 2018-2019 season, which will include 16 concert programs presented by the Society, and three additional events. Highlights include a performance of J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion (Mar 3), a performance of music from the Romantic Era and music based on The Resurrection (April 27-28, 2019), the a capella group Voctave’s orchestra debut, and the return of the popular Insights & Sounds series (Sept 20, Nov 8, Jan 24). The 84th Annual Bach Festival will run February 10 through March 3, 2019.

The following is a list of all events by series: Choral Masterworks. ‘These concerts feature large-scale works showcasing the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra. Concerts will be held at Knowles Memorial Chapel on the campus of Rollins College.
