With the coronavirus crisis intensifying, USF’s hopes of holding a spring football game, even at a much later date, have regressed from faint to forget-about-it.

‘In essence, it’s canceled,’ athletic director Michael Kelly said Friday on his weekly school-produced podcast that can be heard here.

‘Once we get a better feel for when it’s safe and prudent to practice, maybe there’s something we could do’it just won’t be played in the spring. So it’s just a matter of how we’ll adjust to appropriate conditioning and practicing once it is safe to get back together.’

Many things are taking place:

Jordan McCloud, K.J. Sails work out with Antonio Brown

Spring practice postponed until further notice? Not a problem for USF quarterback Jordan McCloud, who’s getting some work in with former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown during the hiatus.

Brown posted a video to his Instagram story working out with McCloud on Thursday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale. The NFL veteran owns 84/7 Fitness, his personal gym in South Florida.

Bulls cornerback and PFF All-American K.J. Sails was also down in Fort Lauderdale working out with Brown and Detroit Lions linebacker Jason Cabinda, among others.
