South Florida fired coach Charlie Strong on Sunday after three seasons in which the Bulls won fewer games each year.

USF made the move two days after finishing a 4-8 season with a blowout loss to rival UCF. That left Strong 21-16 overall but 4-14 since starting the 2018 season with seven straight victories.

Boston College fired coach Steve Addazio on Sunday after seven seasons in which the Eagles never surpassed seven wins, a person with knowledge of the decision told The Associated Press.

Wide receivers coach Rich Gunnell will serve as interim coach, the person said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the decision had not been announced.

Ironically, it’s not October that was haunting, but November, as USF dropped it’s fifth game of the season in harrowing fashion against Temple on Thursday night in front of an announced crowd of 26,214 at Raymond James Stadium in a nationally televised tilt.
