The wait ended Saturday at USF’s Fan Fest. To employ the millennial vernacular, the response this time was far more lit than lukewarm.

An all-black alternate uniform (modeled by former Bulls LB Sam Barrington) and all-white version (modeled by former QB B.J. Daniels) were unveiled to the players and public at the Yuengling Center. The all-black version is believed to be the first of its kind in USF’s 22-season history.

“We’re real excited,” said senior WR Tyre McCants who — like the fan base — had not seen the white and black designs until Saturday. “Especially the black ones. The white ones and the green ones, but them black ones with the black helmet — that really surprised us.”
